An Aesthetic Mystery

"Hoton Main Aesi Baat" (Beholding a secret) is an enigmatic song from a hugely successful Hindi film "Jewel Thief". In this song, the lead actress (Vaijantimaala) is performing a tribal infused folk dance to give certain signals to the thief unwillingly and without being noticed. Through the words of this eccentric musical display she's showcasing the pain of beholding a mammoth secret the revelation of which can cause great destruction. To much of your amusement, this dance requires mountainous stamina as it goes on for almost 9 minutes with all the running and crisp belly movements. Interestingly, the lead actress performed the entire song in one take. That speak lengths about her caliber and humongous talent.
So sit on the edge of your seats as this song will take you to mystical journey of unparalleled aesthetics infused with ancient mystery.

Love Is Fearless

An enigmatic display of historical narrative. This song belongs to a Hindi film called Mughal-e-Azam which materialized the perennial legend of two lovers falling prey to the orthodox prowess of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Anarkalli (the lead actress named Madhubala), a concubine of Emperor Akbar, falls in love with Prince Salim and this mutual liaison became an issue of moralistic and royal contempt for the Emperor.

In this beautiful rendition named Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya ( When you're audacious to fall in love, there's no need to be afraid) Anarkali performs a dance form called "Kathak" which was highly patronized by Emperor Akbar. Through the deeply moving and emoting lyrics of this song, Anarkali is delicately expressing her fearlessness and commitment for her love by touching upon the nuances of mystical dance form.
